About the Artist

The Artist

Hailing from Nashville, TN and now residing in Washington, DC, Ardamus has become a hip hop veteran in the DMV scene. Starting at the age of 8 with rapping, he developed his talents over a number of years, influenced by a rap's-greatest-hits tape his sister let him borrow.

After high school, Ardamus moved to Washington, DC, where he sharpened his skills as a lyricist and attended Howard University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology. After getting a feel for the city and the music scene, he got involved with non-profit organizations that paired the arts with commentary on social justice, and dug into local hip hop battles in the community.

Fast forward to now: the Wammie-nominated hip hop artist has shared the stage with such acts as Souls Of Mischief, Myka 9, 2Mex, Blue Sky Black Death, Ceschi, Phife Dawg, Blu & Exile, Shad, R.A.P. Ferreira and many others. From being in two bands and various hip hop groups to collaborative efforts with the NIH and 202 Creates, Ardamus has honed his craft over time.

Currently, he's working on solo projects for his own brand, Goldbrick Heavyweights, with his band Strangers That Clique, and working on various collaborative efforts.
